The VUmc OncoProteomics Laboratory of the Dept. of Medical Oncology has ordered two high resolution tandem mass spectrometry platforms, the newest versions of the ever-improving Orbitrap family (QExactive). Grant support includes various sources, including generous support of CCA/V-ICI. The new instruments are expected to be installed in February 2012. The mass spectrometers will enable proteomics at unprecedented speed and sensitivity and will be used for biomarker discovery as well as enable phosphoproteomics for personalized medicine.
