Franziska studied Biology at the LMU in Munich, Germany. After completing her PhD on eukaryotic chromosome segregation at the Max-Planck Institute of Biochemistry and the University of Bayreuth, Germany, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the field of p53 biology at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, before joining the OPL at the start of 2016. Here she is working on a KWF-sponsored project in collaboration with the NKI (Prof. Egbert Smit, Dr. Sjaak Burgers, Prof. Anton Berns) entitled “Response prediction for cisplatin-based treatment regimens in non-small cell lung cancer using a protein-based assay”. To this end, proteomics analyses will be performed on archived patient material as well as advanced genetic mouse models.
